Brilliant bowling Mitchell Santner and Moeen Ali in particular because Moeen got rid of Kyle Mayers. CSK used the leg-side (big side) of the ground well which shows smart captaincy of MS Dhoni.

The comeback from Tushar Deshpande in particular was very impressive after delviering a very expensive first over. Good 19th over from Rajvardhan Hangargekar which stopped LSG to make further progress in chasing the target.

In chasing 217 runs, it was a really good start by the LSG openers. It was largely Kyle Mayers stamping his name on IPL 2023 in the early stages. He looked in great shape, confidence, and great off-site hitting in particular. Eight fours and two sixes for Kyle Mayers and he made the powerplay looked relatively really easy. However, KL Rahul was slow in scoring runs alongside Mayers.

Tough going for the LSG’s bowlers tonight. Avesh Khan proved to be bit expensive right from his first over where he leaked 18 runs. Similarly, Krishnappa Gowtham was also much expensive given the economy rate of 20.00.

Whereas, Mark Wood and Ravi Bishnoi both acted as buffers and stopped CSK’s batters with their best efforts. Both of them took three wickets each against CSK in the match 6 of TATA IPL 2023.
