Match 4: It was clearly not a good day for Hyderabad Sunrisers because of their unsatisfactory performances. In contrast, Rajasthan Royals showed a great level of strength during batting as well as during defending the target.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) had a speedy and spectacular start during their batting. Jos Butter announced his entry in IPL 2023 with a great start. Big boundaries right at the start by the talented Engish cricketer, Jos Buttler. He came up with his fifty from just 21 balls, crushing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers. Buttler thrashed SRH with a strike rate of 245.5 including three sixes and seven fours in such a short time.
Similarly, Yashavi Jaisawal also played good innings of 54 runs off 22 balls. Moving forward, Sanju Samson (C) kept the momentum going with boundaries. They kept the scoreboard running and running fast after Buttler’s dismissal. Samson also came up with his first IPL 2023 fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Tremendous performance by the RR’s captain who belongs to Kerala.
But after 16 overs, SRH was able to break the partnership and took control of the run rate. However, Shimron Hytmyer played nicely and scored 22 runs taking the total to 203. It is the first 200+ target given by any team in IPL 2023.
Trent Boult started by taking two wickets right in the first over. Therefore, showing why he is one of the best pacers in the world. Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling stood out during RR bowling as he ended his four overs with an economy of just 4.25. Satisfactory performances by Ashwin, Asif, Holder, and Saini. Their teamwork stopped SRH from chasing the target. However, the match was all over and in the pocket of RR before 10 overs. But SRH batters also showed some strength and got to make 100+ runs.

It did not start well for SRH as they lost two wickets in the first over of the run-chase. Mayank Agarwal put a little score on the board and then he also got dismissed. The middle order of SRH batting struggled a great deal as no one made a respectable score. Harry Brook and Adil Rashid (English batsmen) also could not put SRH out of their misery at that time.
However, in the end, it was the partnership between Abdul Samad and Umran Malik that got SRH to over a hundred runs. But the overall performance by the SRH batters was not satisfactory at all.
SRH bowling faced great difficulty most of the time of RR’s batting. But Fazalhaq Farooqi had a wonderful spell and took some crucial wickets constituting the wickets of Buttler and Jaiswal in this match. Additionally, T Natarajan also bowled really well and gathered two wickets against RR. Umran Malik also stepped up and took the wicket of Devdutt Padikkal.
Rashid Khan’s bowling was also up to the mark but he was unfortunate today in the matter of taking wickets. Similarly, Bhuvineshwar Kumar and Washington Sundar had the same fate today. Natarajan was the most economical bowler of SRH in this match. Whereas, both Farooqi and Natarajan got to take two wickets each.
